WHO IN DA MORNIN’

Junkanno Goddess Angelique McKay and The Genesis Warhawks navigate Junkanoo for the first time in 2 years as Christopher Davis introduces us to the story of Ahanta warrior Jan Kwaw aka John Canoe in a true display of black culture and its African Diaspora connections. CONVICTION

In 1997, Brandon Jackson was convicted for armed robbery in Louisiana. Jackson spent 25 and a half years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. “Conviction” is an intimate documentary about his first few months of freedom. Over time, he finds a sense of purpose advocating to reverse Louisiana’s last Jim Crow law. The film opens a window into the hearts and minds of formerly incarcerated people.
